RAKK™ Gears reached out and they asked if I would like to check out the Marug, one of their latest Gaming PC Cases.

Coming at the price of Php995, this case has  a lot to offer! So first let’s talk about the design. It’s very minimalist with only the 7 color LED strip on the front giving it some accent. For me personally, I really dig these kind of clean and minimalist look. The transparent acrylic side panel is really a huge plus too.

This case supports Micro ATX and Mini ITX motherboards with a CPU clearance of 16.5cm. It’s not much but I was able to fit my  Master Liquid Lite 120 AIO with no problem. For GPU support, I believe this can fit up to 34cm. or those GPUs with 3 fans. Then for fans, this case supports up to 8x 120mm fans. 3 on the front, 2 each on top and bottom, then 1 on the back.

For hard drives, this has 2x 3.5in HDD on the bottom shroud with one slot being able to support 2.5in as well, and 2x 2.5in slot beside the motherboard area.

For cable management, there is a cable management route on the back which will allow for some decent cabling.

The LED Strip has 3 different light modes: Strobe, Slow fade, and Single color of your choice.

The front panel has Power, HDD/Power LED indicator, 2x USB 2.0 ports, and audio ports. The reset button has been replaced with the LED strip switch, so there’s no actual reset button. And sadly, there is no USB 3.0 port.

So what’s the verdict?

Well, I think this is a pretty decent entry level case.  What I like about it is that it gives a lot of room for airflow because you can fit up to 8x 120mm fans. It has decent cable management features, and a good number of HDD slots as well.

The LED strip is a little bit gimmicky but it works. It makes the case more interesting to look at especially if you’re a fan of RGB lighting.

The downsides that I see here though is that it doesn’t have a reset button which I’m sure some people would miss, no USB 3.0 on the front panel, and the acrylic side panel might not work out for a lot of people because they get scratches easily.

For only Php995, I think this case is pretty awesome.
